My name is Quentin Manley – but everyone just calls me Q. I’m an executive and a team coach
I had almost forty years as a successful executive in the MedTech industry with twenty years in blue-chip Johnson & Johnson, and then with a number of innovative startup organisations. I’ve run country teams, large global marketing organisations, US marketing and strategic marketing.
I’ve launched products, headed up an R&D function and run corporate integrations
My last role was to head up the international operations of Nevro Inc – a CA-based midcap. I guess my business specialty is setting up and operating multi-country and cross-cultural organisations - teams of teams. I’ve been told that my strengths are building people up and challenging them to be their best without burning them. Also leading across the different functions of the business to abolish silos.
But throughout the many exciting – often daunting – business challenges my passion and delight has always been the people. I take far more pride thinking back to the people I have worked to develop and help move forward than I do the businesses launched and built.
When I decided to move my career and life into its next stage, I thought that it would be an opportunity to indulge myself and do full time what I love. So, I went back to school – Henley Business School – and studied to gain a Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching. Now I enjoy working to the agenda of my clients, helping them to define and solve their challenges and to move their lives and careers forward.
And me as a person?
I have a sense of humour and I always bring it to work with me
I live in an old country house with a big garden, both of which soak up my free time and money. I’m married and we have two grown up children of whom I am stupidly proud and there are dogs and cats who take advantage of my nurturing nature. And there are still beautiful white egrets in the river.
As a coach, I lean towards a very pragmatic version of humanism
I believe that everyone has within them a self-righting reflex which needs only to be given the right conditions in which to flourish. My mission is to provide you with the tools and the proper conditions to do so.
